Wings Of Inspiration

Wings of Inspiration supports charitable organizations by sponsoring, organizing and conducting volunteer programs and community service projects locally and globally. We encourage the family and community participation in creative service activities to initiate a ripple effect, one at a time, of spreading truth around the world through love and awareness.
Projects from an Open Heart
Get inspired by some of our inspirational projects that have been possible by the involvement of family, friends, spiritual communities and co-workers. They have contributed to the unfolding of my vision of "In Oneness, become instruments of Spiritual, Personal, and Social well-being around the world."

Events & Gatherings, Tampa Bay, Pinellas County, Tampa Bay, Seminole, Largo 2010 Relay For Life

April 23, 2010
Osceola High
Seminole, Florida

This was an incredible event, the grandkids and family members had a blast, eating, getting their hair done and walking for a good cause. This is an event that my good friend and in-law Anne organizes every year in honor of her mother, the kids and I support it and walk in honor of her mom and my "Mami", both of them died of Cancer.

10th Annual Suncoast Hospice

Beach Stroll, April 24, 2010
Palm Pavilion
Clearwater, Florida

This year, our family had a back to back project, this time all the kids, grandkids, my hubby and I supported Suncoast Hospice for a second year. We all walked in honor of my "Mami", brother "Carlos" and granddaughter "Izabella", we missed them but they will forever live in our hearts. I am so blessed to have a family who is supportive of great causes and organizations.

What's Mari up to for Spiritual enrichment?

Mari has joined a pilot program for Kimberly Home as a Bilingual "Personal Pregnancy Companion", working mostly with the Hispanic community of Pinellas. Kimberly Home is a non-profit, non-denominational pregnancy resource center that offers assistance to women in unplanned or troubling pregnancies. This is a very rewarding opportunity where she gets to work one-on-one with women and their babies providing guidance during and after their pregnacies, the program extends until their babies are six months old. Kimberly also provides counseling, material assistance, infant and toddler daycare, and transitional housing as well as referrals to resources throughout the community and an amazing adoption program.

Inspired by her work with pregnant women Mari just completed training and became a "Labor Doula" in other words "Mothering the Mother", I will be empowering women to have a memorable and sacred childbirth experience that will be cherished for the rest of their lives. She is very excited to being able to incorporate this service to her current work with Kimber Home.

On May she launched a new venture Spirit Speaks Spanish, providing services as Interpretor, Media Translator and other talents developed during her 27+ years in this country. On March 2008 she completed a 24 hour Interpreter training with the Hispanic Outreach Center and the Clearwater Police Department to work as a Professional Intepreter and Translator. She has a contract with various local social service organizations including the County Sheriffs Office, Mental Health Department and others to serve as an Interpreter. On June 2009, she acquired her "Victims Services Practitioner" designation which will allow her to work with a broad group of victims.

Mari continues her volunteer work with Suncoast Hospice as a spokesperson on their behalf. Currently she is a on-call to support patients who are in the process of making their transition (dying). She sits with them so families can have a break and if they don't have families they are not alone during their last hours of life. She identifies with this incredible organization because she has been touched during times of grief and loss by the compassion, warmth and loving services provided by ALL the Hospice people. I knew the depth of giving with an open heart by being a volunteer, then as a recipient of their services I experienced the power of receiving unconditional love, which goes hand in hand with the mission of Wings of Inspiration. For more information on volunteer opportunities visit Suncoast Hospice.

She is an Advance Care Planning Facilitator and supports Project Grace's mission to empower, promote, and educate professionals and the community about effective Advance Care Planning and have been asked to become a spokesperson for this great cause.

Mari completed her Core Competency Advocacy Training in October 19, 2007 and obtained her FCADV (Florida Coalition Against Domestic Violence) certification, she currently volunteers as a Bilingual Legal Advocate for The Haven of RCS, helping women, men, and teens in the injunction rooms filling out restraining orders. Facilitating domestic violence support groups in spanish when needed. The Haven of RCS is an organization that empowers victims of domestic violence to become survivors, offering shelter, legal advocacy, 911 phones, individual and group support, preventative education and more.
